Here are some new Dark Creatures that you will be seeing in new DragonRaid adventures. They are also useful for random encounters. By scrolling down , you will find the following villainous creatures: Dune Viper, Hydra, and Minotaur.

Any LightRaider taking damage from a Dune Viper’s bite may fall under the Secondary Source Sin Enchantment. This enchantment causes the LightRaider to want to read ABOUT the Sacred Scrolls, not to consult them directly. The secondary source will become more important in the heart of the enchanted than the Sacred Scrolls themselves. He will talk about this author, and that speaker, a teacher at the LightRaider Academy and what points they make, will use research materials, dictionaries and the like, but will not be able to quote directly from the Scrolls, except for WordRunes previously memorized.

( While under this enchantment, the LightRaider may not use any new WordRunes. )

Dune Vipers were the first beings corrupted by the dragons, and kept almost as pets by them. The Dune Vipers are used to subtly divert a person’s attention from the OverLord by instilling the desire to accumulate facts rather than enjoy the heavenly relationship.

Joy is the strength attacked by the Dune Viper Sin Enchantment, Faithfulness is the strength which is damaged.

The Dune Vipers can be up to ten feet long and six inches thick. They have bony plates protecting their heads, and have grainy, sand colored skin. They usually stay hidden, but have been seen sunning themselves on rocks and in cacti. They have three crooked fangs coming out of the top of their mouths.

Hydras are usually colored in shades of green with light undersides. Powerful legs support the stout, dragon-like body. The hydra’s tail splits into three and each section ends in a nasty stinger.

The hydras used to be in total co-operation with their own heads, and each other. The dragons quickly changed all that soon after their arrival on EdenAgain. The dragons planted Mistrust and Envy in the minds of the hydras, which caused the hydras to begin their Never-Ending Gossip about each other, and anyone they met.

The hydra can be seen talking amongst its heads, always with biting comments about strangers, friends, or one of their own heads. If one head is away from the rest momentarily, it is a target of gossip, whether the head is watching where the body is going, drinking, or taking a rest. “I heard that!” is a common expression among hydras.

At times, some or all of the heads can get into arguments that lead to fights, and most hydras have heads and necks covered in scars. These reptiles are born with seven heads, and their age can be closely guessed, since a head withers and dies every few years from the abuse that it receives.

The Gossip Sin Enchantment is passed by the stinger in any of the hydra’s three tails. A LightRaider’s Kindness is attacked but his Peace is damaged by this sin enchantment.

Minotaurs have the heads of bulls and the bodies of men. They usually inhabit deserted castles, caves, or even thick, dark forests. These creatures are usually very mean, but also very lonely. They like to talk, and will sometimes ally themselves with a group of people for some task. But, the minotaur will want everyone to do things “the right way”, his way. They will be very stubborn in order to get their way, because, after all, it is the best way. Even if it is obviously the wrong thing to do, the minotaur will stick to his plan.

Minotaurs are very strong and aggressive, they will not hesitate to start a fight if crossed. They prefer a battle axe, but will use a sword at times. They tend to snort when getting angry, and this snorting can produce a cloud of foul smelling breath. Minotaur bad breath transfers the Bullhead sin enchantment which causes victims to want their own way. This stubborness can be wrapped in logical or empassioned arguments, anything in order to get the victim’s way. This enchantment can quickly cause division and even chaos in a raid team, so beware!
